Sometimes we are called on to share a meal with a friend’s family. It might be that someone just had a baby or that a family is in a crisis due to illness, a death, or job loss. Whatever the reason, when someone’s life is in the middle of upheaval, food is one way that we can offer comfort and be of service. It tends to be any easy way for me to help. But it can have a large impact by taking a daily task off someone else’s plate. It’s easy – I just plan to double whatever meal I make – one for my family and one to take to another family. When I plan to take them a meal, I often use one of these eight meals as the travel well, taste delicious, are healthy and fit that comfort food category.
