I menu plan every week for the upcoming week, but yesterday I decided to plan out a month full of dinner ideas. I admit even for me, this is a bit much. But this last week, with school back in full force, I have been very short on time. Then with this 3-day weekend, I had some time to catch up on life. So plan I did! I am hoping that by planning a full months worth of dinner ideas the shopping will be more streamlined.
My biggest hurdle for getting dinner on the table each night is the grocery shopping. When I have a plan and the food is already in the house, dinner is usually fast and easy to get onto the dinner table.
When I am scrambling after work and running yet again to the grocery store, dinner gets delayed and my family can get a bit cranky. I am lucky that my husband loves to cook! So when my life gets extra crazy-busy, he picks up the reins and takes over dinner duty. But everything runs smoother when we have a plan and the dinner ingredients are on hand and ready to go!
So for this month I have planned the following calendar. Below the calendar you will find a shopping list for this first week. Since this is a three-day weekend, Happy Labor Day, I am shopping today for the remainder of the week. So for this week, the shopping list will only cover Monday – Saturday. On Saturday, I will post a shopping list the following full week.
Dinners this week include:
- Mediterranean Chicken Salad
- Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos
- Tuna Melts
- Pizza and Salad (Yes, a frozen pizza and bagged salad is on the menu this week! Saturday is going to be a full day, and a simple dinner like pizza and salad will be perfect.) No apologize given.
Looking over the calendar, you can also see that have meatless Mondays in our home. Click here for a printable version of the September Dinner Calendar: September Dinner Menus – Sep (1)
