Beginner Triathlon Training Schedule Month Three

Welcome to month three or more accurately weeks 10 − 14 of my training schedule! I am happy to say that all is going well on my end. While I am not able to complete 100% of the training – I am above my 80% completion threshold that I hold for myself.

My hats off to you that exercise every day!

Triathlon Training

My 80% completion does take into account that somedays I do veer from the schedule. Last month I spent three days skiing, one day snowshoeing, and one day hiking. I (and my body) feel that those days are full of great alternative exercise. Just ask my quads! I have decided that I need to add wall squats into my routine. I also add core on a regular basis, but I am the first to admit that I need to get better with that. I do really enjoy using the rowing machine at the gym, but I need to be doing my planks.

Once daylight savings hits, I will be able to ride my bike to work. That will help – it is hard trying to fit it all in.

So here is the calendar for this month.

  3. Fitness goals are to tone up… But I haven’t even started hat yet. Does running around after an infant and a toddler count? Haha. No seriously. 😉

  4. Oh wow, go you! I don’t think I would ever try something like this, as I am just way to lazy, but I have so much admiration for you. Awesome!

  5. Kimberly says:

I want to try a triathlon next! I’m just so terrified of the swim. I’ll hire a coach for sure!

  6. I think that it’s great you are doing this. I need to figure out how to get into fitness, I do nothing now.

  10. My hat’s off to you. Fair play going for this. I wish you well and much success.

  11. My fitness goals have been a roller coaster of a start this year. I’ve started doing the 21 Day Fix 4 times now this year. I keep getting a week into the program and then end up going out of town for a week, then when I get back I have to start all over again. But the way I look at it, I may not be completing the program as it is intended, at least I am getting in some exercise which is better than no exercise at all.

  12. I can barely finish walking a 3 mile lap without getting out of breath. You are amazing and wow do you work hard!

  13. Oh man doing a triathalon is on my bucket list! Maybe one day I’ll actually tackle it and use this guide, thanks!

  14. Debra says:

I am excited to get training! I need to wait for it to warm up a little bit though I am not getting in my pool when it is 50 degree water! BRRR!

  15. Oh I haven’t even STARTED on my fitness goals. I have been so obsessed with growing my blog and trying to organize the chaos of our home. I do need to get back on track!

  16. I love this and have pinned it! I am not much of a cycler (I loathe it ) but I am a keen runner and swimmer! I have signed up for a duathlon at the beginning of april which I am excited about, I will have to use this planner ! ( minus the cycling :p )

  17. Lol my fitness goals? To be honest I don’t have any apart from put on more weight because I lost a lot of weight during my illness xx

  18. Robin Rue (@massholemommy) says:

My BIL does his own triathalon every fall here in MA and it’s HARD. He does a mini one and that’s hard enough – I can’t even imagine all the discipline needed to train for a full one.
